These energetic Sundogs had an amazing week exploring South Dakota and camping in the Badlands/Black Hills area.

Thank you to Tree Trust and Delta Airlines for the trees!!! Student Council led the school in a planting day and we planted 20 trees in our green space!

7th grade has returned from a great last trip of the school year. They spent two days and one cold night exploring Lake Bemidji State Park. They biked, hiked, and fished their way through two days, with lots of silly time in between. Only 5 more days left!!

The hiking trip is on their last long stretch home after visiting their third national park, Theodore Roosevelt, where they saw a petrified forest, wild horses, bison, and gorgeous landscapes. They are exhausted, smelly, and ready to not sleep in a tent. But we are all leaving having grown in patience, perspective, and resilience.

Yesterday Katherine's Spanish 4 class hand made both flour and corn tortillas. Add some meat, cheese, beans, and guacamole and you've got yourself something delicious!

Another day in the books with the Grand Teton crew. Today we said goodbye to Grand Teton and hit up our second national park, Yellowstone. It was a whirlwind of geological highlights and wildlife. Over 12 hrs of adventure today!

Day 4 on the Grand Teton trip is in the books. Thus far we have spent 16 hrs in the car, hiked in to a gorgeous lake front campsite with sweeping mountain views, hiked 8 miles in a canyon over places with six feet snow pack - and that was just the first three days. Today we took on 12 plus miles with some nice elevation changes and gorgeous views. Tomorrow we take on another adventure!

Yesterday, a group of high schoolers explored the world of manufacturing. They learned the entire process of building Marvin windows and Polaris snowmobiles and atvs. They also learned about new programs at the ARC in Warroad called mechatronics that prepares individuals to work with and fix robots. Lots of amazing hands on opportunities to be employed and educated up north.
