The TrekNorth Student Council recently held its annual picnic in the city park near the school. Even though the cold, rainy spring day made moving into the school garage needed, food and fun were enjoyed. Certificates were presented and accomplishments recognized. The current year officers were thanked for their leadership. Seniors were congratulated! Results of the May election were tabulated with the officers for the 22-23 school year announced. The student council had an excellent 21-22 year and look forward for an even better year in 22-23 featuring hosting the NW Division Fall Summit in October.




The week of May 23-27, 2022 the TrekNorth Student Council is sponsoring Mental Health Awareness week. Events of this week include: Movie Monday-Movies and popcorn for all, Thoughtful Tuesday--Sharing of post-it notes with positive statements, Wonderful Wednesday--Awards Ceremony & Hot Dog Day, Trekking Thursday--Taking a stress reducing walk, and Fantastic Friday--Celebrating and sending off our seniors. Everyone is encouraged to wear GREEN on Wednesday the color of mental health awareness.

TrekNorth Sundogs had a blast at the Unified Champion Schools Track and Field day. Thank you to the BHS volunteers and SOMN for inviting us such a fun event! We made new friends, ran races, competed in obstacle courses and enjoyed the sensory chill zone.

College-bound TrekNorth students are in Minneapolis today for a college fair and a Twins game.

It's been a busy month for art at Trek. Three of our students received "best in category" for the annual High School Exhibit at the Watermark Art Center. NAHS hosted eARTh day activities last Friday. AP Studio art is coming to an end with twelve students preparing to submit their portfolios.

AP Study Night will be held Friday, April 29 from 4-10 pm at TrekNorth. Study sessions will be available along with snacks and pizza. All AP students are encourage to attend and prepare for AP testing.


Our Sundogs had an amazing day at the SOMN Northern Unified Leadership Summit! We played games, climbed the rock wall and shared stories and ideas with students from other area schools. Thanks to SOMN for a great day and BSU for hosting us! #LiveUnified


Today a group of TrekNorth students competed in the Minnesota Indian Education Association Ojibwe Quiz Bowl, and the MIEA Honoring the Youth powwow where Marla Mesarina was crowned the 2022-2023 Ms. MIEA Ambassador! Marla competed through a multitude of criteria including: academic achievement, community/cultural involvement, and her jingle dress dance style!

Sundogs Set 10 Personal Records at Beaver Relays
(Beaver Relays, Bemidji) - TrekNorth Track & Field athletes totaled 10 personal records at the Beaver Relays hosted by Bemidji State University on April 5, 2022. As a team, the Sundogs girls were scoreless while the boys tallied a single point to finish 19th out of 24 teams attending.
The girls team set six personal records for the day. Lauren Amberg ran the 60m dash in 11.24, Tori Mainville-Mesarina finished the 200m dash in 37.87, and Addison May threw 17’ 10” in the shot put. In the 400m dash a trio set new personal records with Caliyah Olson running 1:29.92, Matia Maxwell running 1:41.00, and Savannah Tomlinson running 1:41.96.
The boys were led by Trey Godding who earned the only points for the team by finishing 8th in the 1600m in 5:11.33. Four boys set personal records at the meet. Mason Derby set two personal records in the 400m dash with 1:09.92 and the 800m run with 2:47.14. Emiliano Chernugal improved his 200m dash time to 27.83 and Briar Castonguay finished the long jump with 14’ 4.5”.
The Sundogs next track meet, weather depending, will be Thursday, April 14th at Walker-Hackensack-Akeley High School
